In 2026, STEM programming expansion continues. While maintaining our existing STEM camp collaborations with Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi; Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee; Rice University in Houston, Texas; and SOWELA Technical Community College in Allen Parish, Louisiana; we are also working with Ascension Parish Schools and St. Landry Parish Schools in Louisiana; and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
This year’s camps explore a wide range of STEM topics. Students will also investigate techniques to counteract the environmental impacts of data centers, build model turbines and construct carbon capture and storage (CCS) reservoirs. Additionally, they will explore how data centers and algorithms shape real-world decisions by designing a college admissions algorithm, use physics and math to identify AI-generated videos, and learn how algorithms can hide and detect secret messages in images. Through hands-on challenges and activities, students will practice public speaking skills and collaborate with fellow students to complete STEM projects. ExxonMobil representatives will be on-site at every camp, engaging directly with students by offering insights and helping bring key concepts to life.
